Founded in 1946 the NBA is now one of the most popular sports in the world.
Its impossible to ignore basketball today. NBA players are as rich and famous as Hollywood stars, and people watch NBA matches in now a multinational company worth millions of dollars.
In the USA, the NBA is an imporant part of school and family life. Going to watch a NBA match is a fun experience for all the family. And even if it costs about 200€ for a family of four with, drinks, hot dogs, parking, programme and cap, there were 23 kmiiilion spectators last season.
HOW NBA WORKS?
- Today the NBA has 30 professional teams in major cities across the USA and Canada.
- Teams are divided into two conferences - The Eastern Conference and Western Conference.
- Each team has 14 players, but only five play on court.
- During the season, from November to April, 16 teams qualify from postseason playoffs.
- From April to June two teams emerge These two teams compete in the NBA finals, to be crowned NBA Champions.
